Sweet things really can make a nice and soft mood which also can warm your stomach and heart:)
Although i am not the Sweet Party, but have some ice dessert on hot summer day or a glass of lemonade under the starry sky on the balcony is super enjoyable.
Today my topic is about one of the Chinese traditional dessert, called “Moon cake”. This is the dessert we eat on the Mid-autumn Festival to celebrate the reunion of all the family members. The Mid-autumn festival is the day for family to get together to share their experience and enjoy steamed crabs, taro, green soy bean and duck soup. Super! And at the end of the dinner we will have moon cakes!
From the crust, moon cakes can be divided into syrup skin, crisp skin and ice skin three categories. The one we eat during Mid-autumn Festival dinner is the syrup skin kinds. We always have lotus paste with yolk and sweetened bean paste moon cakes. They are sweet and heavy. We eat them by cutting them into small pieces so we can have different flavor at the same time! Also recent years we have a lot different and special flavor mook cakes, like pineapple flavor, green tea flavor, chocolate flavor, also spicy, curry and so on.
Mook cake is tasty and interesting! I used to have ice-cream moon cakes before, looking forward to this year’s Mid-autumn Festival!!!
