Psyche is a beautiful princess whose admirers went so far as to neglect the proper worship of the love goddess Venus and instead prayed and made offerings to her. Venus is offended, and commissions Cupid to work her revenge. Cupid, however, falls in love with the girl and desires to possess her for himself.
Cupid made an oracle and succeeded making Psyche his wife. But Psyche has never see his face. Once Psyche's two sisters went to visit her and seduce her to take a look at her husband. Psyche's action frightened Cupid and he escaped.
Psyche asked Venus for help in order to meet Cupid again. Venus gave her a dozen of tough missions. Psyche finished them with the help of the gods. The two lover were together at last.
Since Psyche and Cupid is the represent of Beauty and Love in the story, the perfect art works and crafts is very likely to named as Amor and Psyche. When I visited Louvre, I saw a sculpture, Psyche and Cupid was hugging, their body were soft and smooth. I was attracted by the works so much and from then on, Amor and Psyche became one of my favorite story in Greek myth.
