In unit 3, we focus on acting. Acting is a kind of art. We use our movements, postures, and tone to act a role and let it become very similar. At the beginning of this unit, we played some games. One of them is about attend a party. We make a group with three students. One is house owner and holds a party; the others should act a character to attend this party and let the house owner guess who they are. The games like this help to increase our critical thinking skills through behavioral analysis of performers. Then, we have a quiz about perform a scene of a movie. That scene should have at least one role. It improves our English speaking through expressive performance and applies new vocabulary words related to the context of it. And if this scene needs a strong emotion, we should try our best to express it. Maybe use our body language, or our tone. It evokes a diverse array of emotions on demand. Since last week, we played a game which called “Scenes from a hat”. We were asked to perform without any preparation. Teacher or other student picks a piece of paper with a situation on it and we need to do a performance for it. This means we have to perform improvisation and try our best to let other students feel funny. This unit is really interesting and I think we do well.
1. Be regular. You will create a new blog post every other day or 4 times per week. Each post will contain 200 or more words.
2. Be respectful. 3 times a week you will write at least one comment on someone else's post about what they have written.
This is a sandbox, not a litter box. You are free to play as you wish, but respect others' ideas and feelings.
3. Be interesting. There is a whole universe out there with almost unlimited things to talk about. We don't want to read about what you ate for lunch everyday. Tell us a story. Talk about something that happened in the news. Use pictures. Wow us with your wit and your charm.
