People often put out mask to try and make friends, and then slowly start to open up. An individual mask can change but some of these individuals mask are implanted in peoples head because of of the type of person that individual might be. That person will view it as there is nothing wrong or it is not their fault. In a way they are completely right. What may seem normal to someone else may lead others to believe you are different from who you really are.
The way people view each other can go in two directions. One direction is it can be good, and they can view the person as easy going. The other direction is bad. Most of the time no one does anything because no one really cares, but sometimes a spark is all you need to make a wild fire. The target of all of the bias projecting from different people based on the mask covering a individual may just be enough for the individual who they are judging to actually blame them for thinking the way they do. It is common.
What should you do when things get ugly? The real answer is to stay true to your goals and not let anything anyone else has to say effect your life in any way. But that is easier said then done when it comes to most people. The only thing that should matter is what you think as long as you are not effecting any one else in any way.
Sometimes it may be your fault. Sometimes a person will do something which causes people to think what they do. To completely change a mask to a more negative image is a lot easy than changing it to a positive one. This is why the decisions we make effect what people truly think of us.
When I talk about mask, I talk about thoughts that represent you in peoples heads. A mask is something that people think of when they think of you in any different area. Someone may not like you as a person, but may like you as a team mate. Different masks make up different people in everyone's heads. We each have a mask designed for a specific person.
