What I have learn in this unit. This unit is talk about debate, debate means more than two people are counterargument with one topic, and there’re two sides and each side support opposite opinion, and they try to convince each other. And I learn some vocabulary, like devil’s advocate, counterargument, criticize, opposition and acknowledge. Devil’s advocate means to be one side that you don’t want to be. Counterargument means you have to say something to refute your opponent says. Criticize means criticize opponent’s said. Opposition is same as opponent, it is some people have opposite opinion with you. And acknowledge means you heard your opponent say and you have to repeat it first. I learned that if you want to have a good debate the first thing is you must have stronger public speaking skill, and you must have good mentality, and flexile head. The second thing is you must respect to your opponent’s opinions and speak, you can’t say you are stupid or you are worry and so on. You have to say: “I heard you say” or “I understand what you mean.” … then you have to acknowledge what your opponent just say and counterargument with it respectfully. I learn many things in this unit.
1. Be regular. You will create a new blog post every other day or 4 times per week. Each post will contain 200 or more words.
2. Be respectful. 3 times a week you will write at least one comment on someone else's post about what they have written.
This is a sandbox, not a litter box. You are free to play as your wish, but respect others' ideas and feelings.
3. Be interesting. There is a whole universe out there with almost unlimited things to talk about. We don't want to read about what you ate for lunch everyday. Tell us a story. Talk about something that happened in the news. Use pictures. Wow us with your wit and your charm.
