The Catcher in the Rye "Tweet" Assignment
Holden is a communicative person. As the first-person narrator, he’s telling his story directly to his readers. When/where is he telling the story at the beginning of the book? How would the story be different if he told it using only tweets during real time as it was happening or immediately afterwards
Now think about Holden’s voice. Since he is the narrator, we know a lot about the way he sounds. What are some of the main things you noticed about the way he speaks and communicates? What are some traits that would carry over into his “tweeting” voice? What are some that might not be used?
Using Holden's voice, "tweet" the events of the story, using only 144 characters (letters) per event, as you come across them when you're reading as if you were the character.
Some things to think about when choosing your tweets:

1. The number of tweets (4 or more tweets per chapter)
2. The use of Holden's voice (Do your tweets sound like Holden?)
3. Your tweets follow the events of the story (Do your tweets comment on things that happened in the story?)
4. The use of Twitter language (Do you use abbreviations and common features of a tweet?)
5. When you write the tweets (Are you tweeting as you read or did you wait until after finishing the book to do all of them?)
