Prejudice Comic

Due Date: April 13

In this assignment, you will create a comic showing characters dealing with some kind of prejudice or stereotype. 

      1. Your story must have a plot. Use the "Somebody/Wanted/But/So" model to think about your story.

                                                       2.  Must have at least one close up, mid shot, long shot, and point of view shot (POV)

                                                       3. Your story must show your characters facing a problem in their life that was caused by prejudice    

                                                            or stereotype. 

                                                       4. Your characters must learn something. 

                                                       5.  Your story must have at least 20 Panels.




You have two options to tell your story:

You should complete your reading and finish your role sheets the night before the date of Literature Circle.

Students who are seen doing their role sheets the day of the meeting will receive a zero for the day. I'm very serious about this.

3. Why did Daniel seems so happy to give Phil a quarter in the cafeteria?

Part III

1.  Why did Phil feel like he had never seen his own neighborhood before? What did he         
discover about his neighborhood that he never noticed before?

2.  Phil thought he was prejudiced. Why?

3. Phil's mother said not to talk about being prejudiced with his dad. Why do you think she 
said this? How do you think Phil felt about this?  Why?

2. What did Phil think he understood about Lucy and his father?

4. Explain how Phil told a "half-truth." Where was he really going?

5. Give examples of how Lucy acted differently around each person in Phil's family. Why do you think she did this?

6.  Phil decided to run to Daniel's house. What do you think he will do next? Why?

Part VI

1. Tell what happened from the time Phil left his house until he got to Daniel's house.  What was the part you thought was the most exciting? 

2. How was Daniel's neighborhood like Phil's neighborhood?

3.Why did Lucy answer the door at Daniel's house?

4.  Why do you think Daniel did not accept Phil's apology?

5.  Phil and Daniel did not talk much on the ride home.  Why were they quiet?  Are they still angry?
