The head of the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine said this in an interview to Radio Svoboda. “Ukraine has ensured very positive tendencies. If we keep up these tendencies from May to October, I believe that the result will be positive – Ukraine will be able to sign agreement on association with the European Union”, - the minister said.

2.Agriculture Ministry: Vegetable Exports Increased In Q1 (18:45, Tuesday, May 14, 2013)
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food noted an increase in vegetable exports in January-March,the ministry announced in a statement.
"In our country, sufficient vegetables are produced to meet domestic demand. Moreover, we are successfully entering foreign markets. In one year alone, we have been able to increase exports of vegetables several times and even hundreds of times. Now, Ukrainian potatoes, tomatoes, onions, cabbage, carrots, beets, and cucumbers can be found on shelves around the world," said Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysiazhniuk.
In particular, according to the ministry, exports of potatoes increased from 1,200 tons to 7,000 tons, tomatoes from 574 tons to 813 tons, onions from 285 tons to 36,400 tons, cabbage from 1,100 tons to 2,100 tons, and carrots, turnips, beets, radishes, and celery from 119 tons to 8,800 tons in the first quarter of this year, compared with the corresponding period of last year.
The Ministry also noted the seasonal increase in vegetable prices in April, but it forecasts that prices will be stable on the eve of the new harvest.
As Ukrainian News earlier reported, the potato harvest reduced by 3.93% or 0.95 million tons to 23.25 million tons by in 2012, compared with 2011.
However, the vegetable harvest increased by 1.89% or 0.186 million tons to 10.014 million tons in 2012, compared with 2011.
