Last week we were planning how about having an activity doesn’t involved in fundraising, just giving a small speech and letting them know more about water. So today morning maybe 10 o’clock around, our group gathered at gate of the Zhongshan Park. Since Sherry and Lisa were also interested in this activity, they join in us this time even though they are not in our group. We bought 5 boxes of water from the internet and after the people answer correctly the basic questions about water, then, they can get freely a bottle of water. Our purpose is hoping more people can know the situation we are facing about the shortage of water and what kind of water we drink is the best.
Also, it’s a really good time for us to practice our public speaking skills. How to start to talk to a stranger and how to let him stop his step and listen to you? Also, more important thing is how to find a fit person, which means he or she will be interested in us if we talk to them and they will not let us go. To be honestly, we all thought it’s better to talk to a foreigner but not some Chinese women who around 50 years old. Some foreigners we met were so kind. We told them we were the school students and we were doing our school community service project which hoped more people can know better about water. They said they are so glad to help us and know more about water. Whatever they got it correctly or not, they always smiled to us. Not like some Chinese old ladies, some of them thought we are cheater, some of them just wanted to deceive water from us.
But generally, I think it has a good ending at last and we still let more people have a better understanding of water. At last, I want to say Thank you to all my group members, thank you guys work so hard today!
1. Be regular. You will create a new blog post every other day or 4 times per week. Each post will contain 200 or more words.
2. Be respectful. 3 times a week you will write at least one comment on someone else's post about what they have written.
This is a sandbox, not a litter box. You are free to play as you wish, but respect others' ideas and feelings.
3. Be interesting. There is a whole universe out there with almost unlimited things to talk about. We don't want to read about what you ate for lunch everyday. Tell us a story. Talk about something that happened in the news. Use pictures. Wow us with your wit and your charm.
