This actually got me thinking afterwards, should women go to work or not? I think they shouldn't, women's job is to stay at home, do the house work and take care of the children, while the man do the work to earn money to keep the family running. If both man and women go out and work at the same time, then no one will be there to take care of the children and do the house work.
Women can find maids and Ayis to do the work for them because this is what maids are for and this is what they do. And if women go to work, there are two source of economic income, so the family earns more to live in better environment.
The money that is earn will be used on hiring an Ayi if women go to work. And if the Ayi take care of the children instead of the mother, children will get more attached to their ayi rather than their own parents and that is not a good thing to have children feeling more attached to the ayi than the parents because the parents are the one to give them life and they are the one who the children should feel more attached to.
But if women don't work then they will only have one income source which means that their is a smaller chance to give a good life the children deserves.
Children needs to spend their childhood with their parents to care for them, love them, support them and if the parents are working all the time, children will feel left out and abandoned.
Parents can't stay with you forever, one day children are going to have to live on their own, so having a good environment to learn and live is very important. So women needs to work instead of stay at home because more income is essential for building a good living environment with a good quality of life.
There is no answer still. But the girls in grade 9 made a 20 years bet that they will be out working instead of staying at home. Debate topics is supposed to be arguable and there is always a side harder to say. Playing devils advocate isn't a strong ability of mine and I think it is one of the main reason that put down my confident and made my lost during the debate tournament. I need to work harder on my public speaking skills and think of better arguments to respond.
