Birthday is always the most important day to celebrate in the whole year for a person, even the Chinese New Year is not that important as the birthday. Especially in Chinese culture, different ages represent different things, for instance, if an old man is going to be sixty years old, then the sixty years old birthday must be very solemn. Every relative should be exist in this great birthday party, and this birthday party is called “六十大寿”, which means the reach for the Sixty. Since my mum is not that old, so only my aunts and uncles attended this birthday party.
Since I was in middle school, it’s really hard for me to express my love to my mum. As an implicit Chinese, “I love you” is not the thing that always appear in my conversations. So I really had a hard time on choosing what to give to my mum as her birthday present. And finally I decided to send her an e-mail and wish her happy every day. Seems like this idea is really good, my mum was so happy to receive my e-mail, and reply me very quick.
The dinner is great. I enjoy every moment spend with my family. My aunt made jokes about not to burn the candles since after women reached their forties they would not like to tell their ages. And all of a sudden I found that I’m going to be adult in two years, and my parents are getting older and older. Tears were in my eyes, but I just look up and tried not to let them fall down. I realized that I’m not that little girl anymore and I don’t have much time spend with family, which makes my make up my mind: I will spend more time with my family.
I promise, I will spend more time with you, ‘cause until now, no one is more important than you. I love you.
Happy Birthday, mum.
